As the "Civilization 6" release date approaches, interest in the upcoming strategy title by Firaxis and 2K Games is now at an all-time high. Following its weekly schedule, developers recently released a trailer featuring Gilgamesh of Sumeria who will be joining the ranks of "Civ 6" leaders. A brief portion of this article also details the "Civilization 6" system requirements so gamers can check if their hardware meets the minimum needed for the game to run.

Part Man Part God Gilgamesh Joins 'Civilization 6' Leaders

Gilgamesh will definite make his presence felt as one of the esteemed "Civilization 6" leaders. In history, he is the hero in mankind's oldest surviving work of literature known as "Epic of Gilgamesh."

As far as "Civilization 6" leaders go, Gilgamesh is not to be trifled with. Said to be only one third man and two thirds god, getting on the demigod's good graces is definitely an advantage.

'Civilization 6' Gameplay - Advantages In Playing As Sumeria

By the time the "Civilization 6" release date arrives, gamers will see that playing as Gilgamesh has its perks and advantages especially in early game. Sumeria has a unique ability called Epic Quest which means that defeating barbarian settlements gives a tribal village reward.

Sumeria also has a unique unit called the War Cart which is touted to be a very strong early game unit. Unlike other horse driven units, the War Cart has no penalties against spearmen and other anti-cavalry units. In addition, more ground can be covered if the War Cart starts from an open terrain with the additional 1 movement bonus, a Sumerian feature that players can certainly put to good use with the arrival of "Civilization 6" release date next month.

Among the "Civilization 6" leaders, Gilgamesh is the only one that can build the Ziggurat. The unique Sumerian building has to be built next to a river so that it provides culture and science.

Gilgamesh also has an ability that is unique among "Civilization 6" leaders. Called Adventures with Enkidu, the Sumerian leader is generous to his allies, sharing XP and pillage rewards to its closest ally unit within five hex range.

'Civilization 6' Gameplay - How Sumeria Could Be An Early Game Powerhouse

Strategy gamers will soon find out that playing as Gilgamesh could pay off handsomely when the "Civilization 6" release date arrives. This is especially true in the early game since Sumeria's unique unit, the War Car as well as the its unique building, the Ziggurat are already available to the civ right from the start. In addition, the Foreign Trade advancement is already available to the civ making joint wars possible. Other civs have more reasons to ally themselves with Sumeria as these joint wars not only increase that likelihood of success but are also immensely profitable for both parties.

'Civilization 6' System Requirements

The Steam page already announced the "Civilization 6" system requirements. For the minimum requirements to ensure that at least the upcoming strategy title will at least run, gamers need to have at Windows versions 7, 8.1 or 10 all in 64 bit. In addition, their hardware should be powered by an Intel Core I3 2.5 GHz or AMD PHENOM II 2.6 GHZ, with a minimum 4 GB RAM and free 12 GB on the hard drive. A 1 GB DX11 video card is also the minimum, AMD 5570 or NVIDIA 450.

In less than a month, strategy gamers will soon have another title busy to get busy with. "Civilization 6" release date is already slated this coming October 21, 2016 and is available for PC running Windows, Linux or Mac OS.
