Dead Space 3 Will Cost You $110.88: DLC Robbery At Its Finest

Dead Space 3 is turning out to be a disappointment, one that will be felt within the walls of EA for a long time to come. Here's the low down - Dead Space 3 will have 11 pieces of DLC content available for it on Day One, which is far from ordinary.

It has become a trend for game developers to shower gamers with DLC on day one of a particular game availability. We as gamers don't like it, but we've become accustomed to such actions nevertheless. However, when a game has 11 pieces of downloadable content on Day One and only one in the list is free, right there you know things are getting out of hand.

The full list of launch DLC lies below.

  • Bot Capacity Upgrade - $4.99
  • Bot Personality Pack - $4.99
  • First Contact Pack - Free
  • Marauder Pack - $4.99
  • Sharpshooter Pack - $4.99
  • Tundra Recon Pack - $4.99
  • Witness the Truth Pack - $4.99
  • Bot Accelerator - $4.99
  • Epic Weapon & Resource Pack - $2.99
  • Online Pass - $9.99
  • Ultra Weapon & Resource Pack - $1.99
  • Resource Pack - $0.99

Let's sit back and do some mathematics to see how much money one would have to spend to get the most out of Dead Space 3 on Day One. Now, I never did well in maths back in my school days, so be sure to re-check.

Alright, so Dead Space 3 will cost around $59.99, from my checks, and all those DLC above combined will cost the gamer $50.89. Add them up and the total cost to play Dead Space 3 at its fullest potential on Day One is $110.88.

If you take away the $9.99 for the online pass, which allow gamers who bought a used copy of Dead Space 3 to play online, the total comes up to $100.89. Therefore, no matter which way you look at it, Dead Space 3 is one expensive video game, and if we as gamers refuse to do something about this, other game developers will believe its fine.

I for one was interested in Dead Space 3, but because of this, I might just close my eyes and turn my back at a series I have come to enjoy. Join with me, and let us show EA that "ain't nobody got time for that."
