'Final Fantasy XV' Release Date, News & Update: The Story Revealed in English-Subtitled Trailer
"Final Fantasy XV" is slated to release on Nov. 29 for Xbox One and PS4. Game developer Square Enix launched an English-subtitled trailer of the game in the Tokyo Game Show 2016. The game will also get a new mobile phone that is expected to be officially be part of the game in the form of a DLC.
The trailer for "Final Fantasy XV" showed a cinematic peek into the new characters in the game, as well as summons and how the plot will develop. The clip begins with a new character later revealed as the imperial chancellor Ardyn Izunia who prods Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum to claim the crystal's power and arise as the true king.
Along with the rest of the group, Noctis starts on a journey to Insomnia, the capital city of Lucis, which is the last remaining kingdom with control over crystals. However, the crew discovers an article in a newspaper saying that Insomnia has fallen and that the king had died.
It also added that Noctis himself had died. Noctis was enraged and wanted to avenge his father and take over the kingdom, knowing that the king did not go out without a fight. The game is expected to revolve around Noctis reclaiming the throne with the help of his team.
In other news, Square Enix announced a new mobile game which will be part of the "Final Fantasy XV" Universe. The "King's Knight: Wrath of the Dark" will be similar to "Justice Monters Five" that came out for Android and iOS users last month.
The game is a free-to-play, 4 player multiplayer which will eventually be installed in the game as a DLC. It will be the 30th anniversay homage to the scrolling shooter game which originally came out on the NES. There's no official release date for the game in the US yet.
"Final Fantasy XV" will also include the familiar faces of the summons Leviathan and Ramuh. Shiva has been rumored as well but Square Enix is yet to confirm. Other summons included are Ifrit, Carbuncle, and Titan.
