Skyrim HD Texture Pack Update is on Steam For Dawnguard, Dragonborn and Hearthfire

Not too long ago, Bethesda confirmed that it has updated the Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim High Definition texture pack on the PC. The new update will bring better textures for the new DLCs like Hearthfire, Dawnguard and Dragonborn.

The HD texture pack is meant for those PC gamers with powerful graphic cards and an overall PC gaming system that is able to handle the boost in graphics performance. These gamers will require a graphic card with 1GB video memory or more, so if you think your PC is powerful enough, give it a shot.

"In a continued effort to support our PC fanbase, we've released a Steam update to Skyrim's (free) HD Texture Pack. In addition to high resolution textures in the main game, the update adds improved textures for Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and the newly-released Dragonborn," according to snippet from Bethesda's blog.

Bethesda also states that PC gamers should make sure their system is running Windows Vista/7, has a minimum of 4GB RAM, and Direct X 9.0c and over. The HD texture pack file is over 4.7GB in size, so a fast internet connection would be preferred to get the file on your computer in ample time.

Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers should not expect to get a HD texture pack update since these systems are old and nearing the end of their lifespan. They won't be able to handle it, the Xbox 360 and PS3 would likely spontaneously combust if Bethesda should attempt to make a HD texture pack available.

The update is available on the Steam store, so get a move on.
