Killer Croc is the Latest Addition to Injustice: Gods Among Us

NeatherRealms head Ed Boon has tweeted a picture revealing that the newest addition to Injustice: Gods Among Us, is none other than the reptillian Waylon Jones, better known as Killer Croc.

As seen in Boon's pic above, Croc retains the same outfit and visual style seen in both Arkham games, right down to the asylum issued orange pants. The shot seems to show Croc's stage is in the infamous asylum, setting up the Flash for some serious damage while some notable members of Batman's rogue gallery, Riddler and Penguin, look on.

As much as I'm sure I'll relish the chance to pound in the face's of DC's finest, I can't help but feel that the roster is teeming with a lot of Batman-heavy characters. No doubt another brawler, Croc was last seen as an easter egg in Batman: Arkham City. Prior to that, he featured in a rather tense scene that was more of a run than a fight in Arkham Asylum.

While he's not as intellectual as some of Batman's other enemies, what he lacks in strategy, he more than makes up in brute strength. The same condition that is responsible for his physical deformities is also what gives him his enormous size and formidable strength. No doubt the muscle will come in handy in the fight against Supes.

Croc joins longtime other longtime DC character likes Lex LuthorBaneDeathstroke, Batman, Superman, the Flash, CyborgNightwing, Wonder Woman, the JokerGreen ArrowGreen LantenCatwoman, Harley Quinn, and Solomon Grundy, with even more on the way.

According to the game's presentation at this year's EVO, there will be at least 24 playable characters and 15 arenas. Boon does plan on introducing a few characters you might not expect. "With Mortal Kombat, we brought in crazy guests like Freddy Krueger. So we'll definitely want to introduce unexpected characters [via DLC] to Injustice. That'll be our strategy. It's comparable to Mortal Kombat, but being really aggressive with our DLC characters."

Injustice: Gods Among Us is set to release this April for PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360.
