Naughty Dog's horror survival game "The Last of Us" is one of its successful game title that fans have been asking for a sequel. The game developer has not explicitly announced a release date for "The Last of Us 2" but several reports already suggest that the game's development will start soon.
The 2013 post-apocalyptic themed game has been remastered to an HD version, which came out in 2014. Now, the game is being offered at Amazon for $10. This deal is sweet and fans took it as a sign that Naughty Dog is really on track when it comes to the development of "The Last of Us 2." Fans just can't shake off the idea that the sequel could be released soon, especially when a report from GameSpot last year suggested it's happening.
The news outlet shared the LinkedIn profile of a former character lead artist at Naughty Dog, Michael Knowland and in it "The Last of Us 2" was indicated. Knowland's resume also showed that the gaming firm had come up with prototype designs for the title. The possibility of a follow-up to Ellie and Joel's story is not far off since creative director Neil Druckmann and game director Bruce Staley already confirmed that there's a "50/50" chance that it's happening. However, "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" came; the team concentrated on the game title and had put "The Last of Us 2" plans on hold.
"Uncharted 4" was released earlier this year but there are still several plans for its DLC, which is assumed to end this year. Still, given the amount of time and work put in creating a game, recent speculations suggest that "The Last of Us 2" development could start next year and that the game should be ready by 2021. It is still a long wait and Naughty Dog hasn't officially confirmed anything yet so fans should just stay tuned for more updates.
