Google Nexus 7 Release Date, Latest News & Updates: Will Nexus 7 Be Launched Tomorrow?

The hype train for a new Nexus 7 has been really up since the Google I/O keynote event in May and during the August Nougat release. It is now October and the year is almost ending but it is a never-give-up journey for those who are still waiting.

It may have been a frustrating wait but Google will not fail them, of course. Tomorrow, October 4, Google will be holding an event. According to PC Advisor, it is an event in which it is expected to launch the new Google Home, Pixel X and Pixel XL smartphones, Daydream VR (Virtual Reality), and the 4K Chromecast.

To those people who have been waiting for updates regarding the Nexus 7, now is not the time to hold back. Reports say that it is more than likely that Google will also use the event to unveil an update to the Nexus 7. Or perhaps, since Google is tipped to be ditching its Nexus brand in favour of Pixel, it will use the event to unveil the new 'Pixel 7.'

As for Google ditching its Nexus brand in favour of the Pixel moniker, Mirror previously reported the same thing. According to them, Google has been using the Pixel name on its tablet and laptop products in the past. This speculation is yet to be confirmed so there is no assurance that Google is killing off its Nexus brand entirely.

Should Nexus 7 still not be launched tomorrow, it is still highly possible that a new Nexus 7 will continue to do an important job for Google. Right now, it is being taken care of by the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P which offers a value-for-money entry-point to the world of Android as it is intended.

The Google event may or may not confirm all of the speculations but it is still a must-see because it will unveil the price, release date, specifications, and new features of its new products. Catch the Google Event Live Stream tomorrow at 9am.
