‘Assassin’s Creed 5’ Release Date, News & Update: Ubisoft Executives To Revolutionize IP, More Polish & Quality

"Assassin's Creed 5" will not be released in 2016. However, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guilllemot shared some details about "Assassin's Creed 5," describing that the next installment will be worth the longer wait.

Guillemot told GameSpot that while developing "Assassin's Creed 5," they realized that they had the opportunity to take it to a new level. They decided to take all the time necessary to provide a fantastic experience to everyone. The plan for "Assassin's Creed 5" was feasible because they have other games to offer while developing the next game. Guillemot added that there is a huge potential in "Assassin's Creed 5" to revolutionize the IP, so they wanted to ensure that they change the model so they have more time and provide a greater experience overall.

Although "Assassin's Creed 5" fans speculate that the game will be ready in 2017, Guillemot mentioned that it will be back when it is ready. He continued that the game will be available when they feel that they have something great to offer. As for revolutionizing the IP, the Ubisoft CEO said that it is still difficult to determine whether they will reinvent the formula or use the same one while adding new ideas. He explained that they can only decide when they actually see the concept.

Game Debate wrote that "Assassin's Creed 5" may feature key elements that helped make "The Witcher 3" highly successful. Previous rumors also suggested that "Assassin's Creed 5" will be set in Ancient Egypt. There will most likely be a new protagonist given the setting, moving through pyramids and other very old structures and dealing with pharaohs and slavers. If the game actually becomes available next year, it may not be until the 2017 holiday season. More updates and details on "Assassin's Creed 5" are expected soon.

Recently, vice president Tommy Francois also said that they are trying to achieve Alpha for "Assassin's Creed 5" one year before it releases. They wanted more polish, innovation and added quality to the game. He added that they do not wish to take shortcuts and they needed to have an Alpha available as early as possible. They expect to come up with a great game if they have more time to develop "Assassin's Creed 5."
