Skyrim's Hearthfire DLC Arrives on PS3 Today

PS3 gamers will be able to take their Skyrim experience even further when Hearthfire comes to PSN this afternoon,

While it may not offer the added adventure of Dragonborn or Dawnguard, Hearthfire does help broaden the gameplay experience by giving players even more customization options, as well as the ability to adopt children, and brought in a few new, albeit relatively mundane, objectives and missions.

According to the official description from Bethesda, "With this official add-on to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, you can purchase land and build your own home from the ground up - from a simple one-room cottage to a sprawling compound complete with an armory, alchemy laboratory, stable, garden, and more. Use all-new tools like the drafting table and carpenter's workbench to transform quarried stone, clay, and sawn logs into structures and furnishings. Even transform your house into a home by adopting children."

Beginning with a small, one room cabin in The Pale, Falkreath, or Hjaalmarch, players can eventually construct a fully functioning home with more features than you could possibly expect.

Like the rest of Skyrim's DLC's, Hearthfire was originally a Xbox 360 exclusive before finding its way to PC, and now the PlayStation 3.

You can see the official trailer when the DLC was first announced below.

Hearthfire will be available at a discounted price to PS3 gamers for the rest of this week. Once that period is up, players will have to fork over the full price to grab the DLC. Check out our "Getting Started and Achievements / Trophies Guide" for Hearthfire here.
