'Pokemon GO' Release Date, News & Update: Niantic's Augmented Reality App Available in 11 More Countries

There's no denying how Niantic's "Pokemon GO" took over the world when it was released back in July to select countries worldwide. The rest of the world that didn't have the game just yet had to sit back and watch as everyone was enjoying catching their favorite Pokemon.

Worry no more, however, as Niantic has made "Pokemon GO" available in 11 new countries. According to iTechPost, several countries will now be able to play "Pokemon GO," including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macau, Macedonia, Mongolia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan. These are mostly middle eastern to European countries that have lagged behind in the "Pokemon GO" trend, but it's never too late to catch up.

Unfortunately for China and South Korea, however, "Pokemon GO" still isn't arriving to their shores mostly because the use of Google Maps is prohibited in their countries. If Niantic is still pursuing that market, however, they will definitely have to look for other ways to utilize a map for the augmented reality game.

Meanwhile, Nintendo Insider is reporting that an app may be made available for "Pokemon GO" users who use an Apple Watch. Niantic is seeing the Apple Watch as a great way to keep track of in-game activities without having to look at one's phone to play. Of course, there's the recently released "Pokemon GO" Plus, a wearable device that alerts users if there is a nearby Pokemon through a light display and vibration. It's not as advanced as an Apple Watch, but it aids in playing "Pokemon GO" hands-free.

Last month, the "Pokemon GO" Plus was rumored to have been sold out on the first day of release because Niantic did not disclose where the accessory could be purchased. The device, which is powered by Bluetooth, is compatible with iOS and Android devices. Get the full details here. Meanwhile, check back on the latest on "Pokemon GO" and comment on whether or not you're looking forward to the Apple Watch app.
