‘God of War 4’ Release Date, News & Update: Change in Camera to Provide Perfect Norse Mythology Experience! Game Confirmed 2017 Arrival?

A significant plot change has been revealed for "God of War 4." The game's plot that was till now based on Greek Mythology, will now shift to Norse Mythology. Kratos will remain the protagonist of the story. While many believe that the game will be released in 2017, there is still no official confirmation on the game's release date from Santa Monica Studio.

"This is kind of a re-imagining of God of War, this idea of taking all the pieces that make up the game, pulling them apart and putting them on the floor and really evaluating everything," said Cory Barlog, "God of War 4" director, reported Trusted Reviews. The game's overhaul was apparently decided after rigorous brainstorming before finally focusing on Norse Mythology.

All kinds of mythologies were considered as Barlog wanted the "God of War 4" game to set in a different world altogether. He also considered Egyptian Mythology for a while but finally settled for Norse as his team voted it the most.

According to YIBADA, the development team for "God of War 4" has also changed the camera they used in previous installments. A lot of changes in the player-controlled camera have been applied as the team's goal was to focus on Kratos' story. The camera change will allow the protagonist to move as per player's perspective.

"Gods of War 4" is expected to be compatible with PS4 Pro. The game surprised everyone when it was revealed at a Playstation press conference during the Electronic Entertainment Expo this year. However, fans should not expect much information as Barlog has said that nothing will be revealed this year, writes Mobile & Apps.

Just to keep up with fan interest, Barlog may release a documentary about the making of "God of War." When he asked fans what they would like to see in the "Special Edition" package. Fans were quick to respond stating game soundtracks, artbooks and also a life-sized Kratos figure. Stay tuned to GamenGuide for more "God of War 4" news and updates!
