‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: Niantic Adds Google Captcha To Nail Bots, Scanners

“Pokemon Go” players continue to use third party apps and bots to enjoy the game despite risks of ending up with a blocked account. Niantic is serious as far as forcing everyone to play fair and proof of that is another added measure with added encryption.

The new encryption feature for “Pokemon Go” will see the addition of Google Captcha which will pop out every once in a while to properly track what a player is actually doing in the game. The whole pop-up thing may sound irritating but obviously, something directed at erring players who continue to work around the strict measures by Niantic, i4u reported.

Will encryption finally thwart third-party use?

For those who have played “Pokemon Go”, most are probably aware of the interaction that is needed everyone in a while. A simple tap can easily address them before but with the addition of Google Captcha, another layer will be added to prove the legitimacy of the one behind the device.

Actual users and bots may finally be defined but the one that takes a big hit are the third-party apps used on “Pokemon Go”. That list would include FastPokeMap and PokeAlert which were able to get pass through the previous efforts of Niantic.

The same case may be true for PokeGOD, an app that is conspicuously up on iTunes and something that Niantic has surprising yet to address. As mentioned in a previous post, PokeGOD is a paid app ($1.99) that essentially automates that simulates walking on “Pokemon Go” as plotted by the user.

The addition of encryption on “Pokemon Go” is a big development, something normally applied by sites to control spam comments and additional security to logins. Some may find it irritating but adding it does level the playing field between fair-playing gamers and cheaters.
