'Star Wars: Battlefront' Release Date, Latest News & Update: New Scarif DLC To Coincide With 'Rogue One'?

As everybody already knows, the latest "Star Wars" movie is coming out this December, "Rogue One." "Star Wars: Battlefront" is due for a new expansion pretty soon, and it looks like gamers are gonna get it around the same time we get "Rogue One" this year.

It only makes sense as the "Star Wars: Battlefront" expansion DLC, according to developers EA DICE, is going to allow you to play as "Rogue One" protagonist Jyn Erso, or the main antagonist Imperial Director Orson Kennic. It would only make sense that the DLC would come around the same time as a movie as some sort of interpromotional move for it.

We're not too sure yet about whether this would be happening. It's only safe to assume that a "Star Wars: Battlefront" DLC featuring "Rogue One" characters would make sense to drop around early December. Nothing has been really confirmed by EA DICE about the expansion.

So what would be in store for the Scarif DLC for "Star Wars: Battlefront"? According to Mobile n Apps, other than the addition of new weapons, the main setting for the expansion would be a tropical, beach-like planet that would be a nice change of setting from the usual forested and outer space maps. A tropical setting isn't really an environment the "Star Wars" franchise has ever explored, even in the movies.

In other related news, other than "Star Wars: Battlefront" expansions, it seems that EA DICE is already gearing up for "Star Wars: Battlefront 2." They claim that it's going to feature even more expansive worlds and improved gameplay, but that's most probably going to be a while away if the studio is concerned about making expansion DLCs timed with the movies. We'll bring you more updates as we get them.
