The perfect combination and balance of impressive graphics, realistic story and apt sound effects and soundtrack made the players fall in love not only with the game concept, but its characters as well. Joel and Ellie's character truly struck a chord with the players. However, it is still uncertain if Joel and Ellie will still be the main characters in "The Last Of Us 2."

However, the excitement for the game will not help in making the game available sooner as expected. Although the fans are more than ready to purchase "The Last Of Us 2" once it becomes available in the market, Naughty Dog, together with Neil Druckmann is not rushing the game development.
Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann are focused on making "The Last Of Us 2" bigger, better and much more engaging than its predecessor. If there will be indeed new characters to replace Ellie and Joel, the fans are hoping to see more optimistic characters who will take them through the game.

The possible game plot of "The Last Of Us 2" is expected to go in between two directions. It will either take the players to a worse apocalypse than the ending of TLOU or it will take the players to a pre-quel, where they can see how everything started.
