'Mafia 3' Release Date, News & Update: New Patch Addressing Frame Rate Limitations Available Now

Just when 2K Games' "Mafia 3" was released a couple of days ago, fans were up in arms because of the 30FPS limitation the game had. This was disappointing news for most gamers who were looking forward to the Hangar 13 action-adventure video game.

The studio has since then addressed the issue, promising to release a patch addressing the frame rate limitations. The new patch for "Mafia 3" has been live since 3 p.m. PT and fans can now get their hands on it for a better gaming experience. The studio took to Twitter to announce the news.

According to Gamespot, the new "Mafia 3" patch will let gamers play with 30FPS, 6-FPS, and unlimited FPS options from the game's video menu. The studio also included additional improvements for the PC version of the highly anticipated game.

"Mafia 3" was released to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, macOS on October 7, and follows Vietnam War veteran Lincoln Clay as he plans to go up against the Italian mob. The events of "Mafia 3" take place six years following "Mafia 2," which was released in 2010. The story takes place in New Bordeaux, which is loosely based on New Orleans.

"Mafia 3" received early praise for its cinematography and fans are already looking forward to more content to arrive to the new game. It seems that the studio is already working on new material, as NDTV reports that Hangar 13 Studio Head and Creative Director Haden Blackman hinted at additional DLC coming very soon.

According to Blackman, Hangar 13 is working on a "story-driven expansion" which would hopefully arrive during the first half of 2017. Meanwhile, fans can get their hands on "Mafia 3," as well as the patch that addresses frame rate limitations.
