Gamers who happen to be movie lovers as well remember Jason Voorhees, right? That maniac wearing a scary hole-riddled mask, stalks at helpless victims and kills them with anything he can gets his hand to. "Friday the 13th: The Game" offers chance to become a serial killer with several options on how to get horrible things done. The gameplay was patterned after the movie and there are unlockable Jason incarnations.
"Friday the 13th: The Game" official website said that this title is a multi-player gameplay. One player dons Jason Voorhees persona while 7 other players can comprise victims or camp counselors - for proper terminology's sake. The setting takes place in Camp Crystal Lake on, of course, Friday the 13th. At any rate, every element of this game title is nostalgic of the movie.
The players can opt for camp counselor if being a serial killer doesn't appeal them. Game Spot enumerated two "Friday the 13th: The Game" strategies to survive Jason's thirst for blood. Camp counselors can either hide as much as they can to avoid getting killed or they can form a coop and plan how to vanquish Jason. Either way, staying alive is the foremost goal.
Meanwhile, Gun Media admitted funds shortfall to push further so they took a unique approach though crowdfunding to breach the gap. The target at Kickstarter campaign is to raise $700,000. Gun Media said that "Friday the 13th: The Game" could have gotten a well-funded publisher but they shied the idea. The group reasoned that elements like gore, brutality, nudity and others might be compromised if tied to a publisher. Then they defended that these elements are essential to hold true to traditional movie plot.
