Several customers who pre-ordered the "Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition" on Amazon complained that they have not yet received their copy of the game. Game developer Microsoft stated that they are aware that some Amazon customers have an issue with the delayed delivery of "Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition," and advised them to contact the online market's customer service. So far, Amazon has not yet provided an official statement regarding the delay.
IGN cited that several pre-order customers reported how "Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition," which costs $99.99, and "Gears of War 4: Collector's Edition," which costs $249.99, failed to arrive despite the previously promised early access on Oct. 7, 2016. The official release date is on October 11, but other players who pre-ordered were told that they will only get their copyanytime between October 10 and 12.
GameSpot wrote that the "Gears of War 4" pre-order editions were supposed to allow four-day early access to subscribers. The Ultimate Edition also includes a $50 season pass and bonuses like character and weapon skins. The season pass features the Vintage VIP Pack, permanent access to 24 DLC maps, which will be released in pairs each month for a whole year, and access to a deliver multiplayer playlist. The DLC maps will arrive for free to all players, although these will be available in a rotational scheme over time. The Collector's Edition includes the custom JD Fenix statue.
Amazon has not issued an official statement regarding the delayed release of "Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition" and "Gears of War 4: Collector's Edition." Some users were reportedly told by an Amazon representative that they will receive their copy immediately. However, many remain skeptical and plan to cancel their orders on the website to avail of the special editions at other retailers. It is still uncertain whether Amazon will offer refunds for the delayed release.
