Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James advised New York Knicks cornerstone Carmelo Anthony to chill and step back a bit from detractors taunting that the latter did not won any NBA championships.
Carmelo Anthony lack any success in the NBA endgame so detractors are always using this argument to question his talents. Even if each outing results into explosive performance, it is the continued failure to bring Knicks into a championship that blemishes Melo. And of course, being a human being, Anthony feels all the pressure. Here is when LeBron James enters to appease his longtime friend.
LeBron stressed that Anthony lacks the NBA championship but what he has is something of similar value. Anthony can boast his four medals from the Olympics, three of the gold. LeBron said that these were not just league accolades but a testament of success representing the whole American nation. Then he capped his Instagram message to Anthony that he should remain calm despite negativity surrounding him, ESPN said.
To recall, Anthony posted on Instagram that he is "about to go off" because of criticisms. Then he added a question (clearly referring to LeBron James) if he should simply let detractors go away with their tirades. Anthony was observed to be itching towards NBA finals due to his approach to the twilight of his career. All the more detractors are trying to get the best out of him.
Meanwhile, LeBron James said in a separate Bleacher Report interview that he dreams of playing with his closest NBA allies. James named Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul and Dwayne Wade as good options to play with before they all traverse retirement. However, James admitted that this scenario is close to fantasy because they are playing for separate clubs. Call it nearly impossible but Anthony is into the idea.
Anthony sad that LeBron James' fantasy is something that appeals to him. He admits that to realize this scenario, everybody has to take cuts in their current salary. Then Anthony added that he is willing to do so if the situation warrants.
