"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" is nearing the end of its 18-episode run with its upcoming finale week. Recently, cast member Park Bo Gum revealed the scene that he considered unforgettable since it marked the start of his close friendship with co-star Kim Yoo Jung.
Park and Kim displayed an amazing on-screen chemistry in "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" as they portrayed the love story between a crown prince and a daughter of a traitor, Yeong and Ra On, respectively. Previous reports that featured behind-the-scenes photo stills also showed the two South Korean celebrities' close bond with each other.
In a recent interview, Park revealed how he and co-star Kim developed their friendship while filming the KBS historical series. A video interview that aired on China's Mango TV, as cited by All Kpop, unveiled the story behind the two celebrities' platonic relationship.
Despite an initial awkward encounter expected from a first meeting, Park and Kim soon grew comfortable around each other especially after filming a specific scene. The "Reply 1988" actor revealed that the scene that showed Yeong and Ra On falling into a hole in the ground helped to bring him and Kim closer together.
The scene appeared in the first episode of "Moonlight Drawn by Clouds." In the said scene, viewers witnessed the crown prince's cantankerous actions similar to that of a young child. It also featured the first romantic moment between the KBS series' two protagonists.
Meanwhile, Park and Kim's historical drama has been enjoying strong ratings since its premiere episode released in August. The series even reached the 20 percent TV ratings mark with its episode 7 that aired on Sept. 12. Following the said episode, the drama's ratings hovered between the levels of 17 percent to 21 percent.
Episode 15 that aired on Oct. 10 posted nationwide TV ratings of 17.9 percent, according to Nielsen Korea. Episode 16 that was released on Oct. 11 registered a viewership share of 18.8 percent. Across the Seoul metropolitan area, TV ratings were posted at 18.5 percent and 17.8 percent, respectively.
"Moonlight Drawn by Clouds" will release its final two episodes on Oct. 17 and Oct. 18 on KBS. Watch the highlights from episode 16 below:
