'Grid 2' Introduces the World Series of Racing In New Gameplay Footage [Trailer]

Patrick Callahan, the fictional entrepreneur in Codemasters' upcoming "Grid 2," lays out his grand plan for us in the game's latest trailer. Apparently he's made plenty of people rich and he wants to extend his significant talents into the world of competitive racing, so he's making an entirely new league out of it. Also he needs a star, a public face, and guess what? It's you!

I'm not sure about this Patrick Callahan character. Sounds like a real piece of work. But you should make your own judgment. Watch the trailer, man, just watch it.

Seriously though, in a genre typically devoid of meaningful story, Codemasters' effort in "Grid 2" is pretty admirable and beyond that, the story actually seems somewhat believable. Now that's a surprise, Mr. Callahan.

The original "Race Driver: Grid" released all the way back in 2008, after which Codemasters concentrated on its "DiRT" and "F1" series. They also made that "Bodycount" first person shooter as well. It was weird.

Now, after plenty of fan anticipation, "Grid 2" is set for a May 31 release on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
