‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: Niantic Installs Speedlocks; Game Cannot Be Played While In Moving Vehicle? More Cheats, Tips & Tricks

Another update has rolled out for "Pokemon Go" and it looks like fans that are used to playing the game while commuting will not be too happy. Just last week, developer Niantic disabled all third party Pokemon tracking apps and did not have any replacement at all for them. With these new changes to the game, it looks like things are even going to be much harder for the standard "Pokemon Go" player.

Forbes reports that of this weekend, there either had been a new bug or a feature in the game wherein when one goes above the driving speed limit set in the game, the sightings and nearby lists completely shut off. Less and less "Pokemon Go" players have been seeing Pokemon spawning while they are on a moving vehicle for a while but with this latest update, it seems that they are totally gone.

When in a moving vehicle, there are absolutely no Pokemon on the nearby list and completely, not a single common one would spawn. Therefore, a "Pokemon Go" player would never know what is near him or her while moving so he or she can't get down and try to chase it if one appears.

This looks like a safety concern since Niantic probably wanted to address a lot of criticisms about the game's augmented reality approach to gaming. Niantic also probably wants to do whatever they can so that "Pokemon Go" players will not be looking at their phones while driving to avoid potential liability. This points out to the big possibility that this change might be a feature that came with the latest update, not a bug.

It is also confirmed by reports that Niantic had indeed put a speedlock on all devices, which completely erases all Pokemon spawns when one goes above 30mph. This means that when the server detects that a player has gone above what they consider driving speed, they will no longer be able to play as they usually do. This new feature came after the patch that had push notifications into the game, which annoyed a lot of "Pokemon Go" players and has been called by them as useless.
