With the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 bombing out of the mobile phone market, the best the Korean company can do at this point is salvage whatever is left from the once promising phablet. One thing that Samsung seems to be focusing on is the software originally pegged for the fallen device.
Right now, the Korean tech giant only has the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung S7 Edge as the credible flagships on their end. They do not explode and have been quietly satisfying the ones who got hold of them. With the Galaxy Note 7’s future unclear, moving the software features to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge seems like the next best thing.
New Software updates for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge
Software updates are nothing new for mobile devices, updates meant to patch up security stuff and possibly new features. As far as Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge owners are concerned, most have noticed a couple of new things that seem to be tied up to the fallen Samsung Galaxy Note 7.
Among the new features of the latest software update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge include the always-on display setting, along with customization options like showing a photo, choosing an analog or digital clock to be shown, and notifications according to XDA Developers.
The lot seems familiar only that support for the Galaxy Note’s Stylus have been left out for obvious reasons. Regardless, the rolled out update for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung S7 Edge is far from perfect. There are some features not working properly such as notifications for Samsung’s email app, Slash Gear reported.
Samsung Galaxy Note 7’s loss is Galaxy S7’s gain
With the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Samsung S7 Edge the remaining flagships standing, it makes sense to salvage some of the neat features the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 was expected to offer. There is no telling what Samsung plans for the Galaxy Note 7 with the fire-related issues still unresolved.
