A report in MacRumors also states that Apple put a halt to the iPad Mini production after the iPhone models decreased the demand for the tablet. In short, consumers tend to chose Apple smartphones rather than the tablets.
The iPad Mini is not the only device that might be killed off as Apple might also stop the iPad Air productions as well after the launching of the next iPad Pro generation. Despite these rumors, some also say that the iPad Mini 5 might also be launched on March 2017 together with the iPad Pro 2 and the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro in addition to the 9.7-inch "low-cost" iPad.
