‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Updates: Niantic Offering Sponsored Location Spawn Points To Businesses For PokeStops

Niantic may be busy trying to enhance “Pokemon Go” but they are equally busy trying to pick up the business side of things. The word out is that the company is talking to several businesses who could eventually establish their locations as PokeStops or Gyms.

The existing plotting of PokeStops and Gyms have been questioned with most wondering how Niantic was able to define the locations for "Pokemon Go". As mentioned in a previous post, the locations for “Pokemon Go” were derived from a previous augmented reality project called “Ingress”. This happened back in 2013 where most of the key points are public and historical places.

Changes have already been requested though Niantic has yet to address them all. Seeing how large the area of scope that “Pokemon Go” covers, correcting all that could take some time.

Updated locations to include new establishments?
With the modifications of hot spots and spawn points happening as we speak, Niantic could very well add the entities that agree to host sponsored locations for "Pokemon Go" where Legendary Pokemon could eventually appear. The company is charging 3,000 EUROS for businesses interested in making their locations as “Pokemon Go” virtual spots, according to the French site P-Nintendo.

Hefty investment but large returns

The price for hosting a “Pokemon Go” spot seems quite hefty though it is seen more as an investment that will eventually render profitable returns. The key strategy here is making locations spots for rare spawns in "Pokemon Go", a move that will obviously rack in more customers.

Availing establishments that eventually become “Pokemon Go” spawn points can expect up to three rares appearing on their end, all of which can come out depending on when the business want them to spawn. Niantic has yet to issue an official announcement tied up to this strategy  for "Pokemon Go", though rumors suggest it will kick off sometime in November.
