'Final Fantasy 10 HD' To Include '10-2 HD' As Well, Coming To PlayStation 3 And Vita [LEAKS]

Finally, it appears that the long-rumored HD remake of "Final Fantasy 10" is in the making. The game will also include "Final Fantasy 10-2" as well. "Final Fantasy 10 HD" will hit stores later this year on PlayStation 3 and Vita packaged with "Final Fantasy 10-2 HD."

According to various reports, both "Final Fantasy 10 HD" and "Final Fantasy 10-2 HD" will be released on PlayStation 3 on the same blu-ray disk. The games will come to PlayStation Vita as well; however, both will be available as separate releases. The news comes as a leak from next week's issue of the Japanese magazine Shonen Jump. Gematsu has scans of the magazine confirming the rumor.

Although Square Enix has yet to officially deny or acknowledge the rumor, the chances of such a move seem likely given that a remake of the game was first announced almost two years ago.

Originally released in 2001, "Final Fantasy 10" was a critical and commercial success and so was its 2003 sequel. "Considering the large amount of HD remakes and collections of older franchises, such as Ratchet and Clank and Sly Cooper, it is only a matter of time until we see remakes of other Final Fantasy games as well. Square Enix is also working on a HD collection for the popular Kingdom Hearts series," Latinos Post reports.

The new "Final Fantasy 10" consists of a completely new sphere grid named Expert Grid; nine extra abilities (Nab Gil, Pilfer Gil, Quick Pocket, Quick Hit MP, Full Break, and four extracts); as well as nine additional optional bosses - the eight Dark Aeons and Penance, Destructoid says. The introduction of two new dresspheres; the addition of the Last Mission at Yadonoki Tower; and the ability to capture monsters and key characters Seymour, Auron, and Seymour from X during battle, plus other supporting characters from both games are the key differences in Final Fantasy X-2.
