'Assassin's Creed' Release Date, News & Updates: Movie Under Pressure from Contenders? Do Film Adaptations of Games 'Flop?'

"Assassin's Creed" has been slated to have a film of its own, as many may now know. One of the most recent concerns that many have talked about is the fact that there are not many movie adaptations so far that met the fans' standards, but such may change by year's end.

Based on the franchise that Ubisoft pushed forward, "Assassin's Creed" took to another level with the movie that looks to relive a massive success in the gaming industry. This is still quite a shot to look at, given that there will also be other high-end contenders to come across around the same series of months.

According to Forbes, "Assassin's Creed" is up against some heavy competition with the likes of "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" and even the prior "Doctor Strange" if to be put bluntly. Such case will ultimately bring the pressure on for the movie even if it does not belong to the same genre. But when it comes to the game-to-movie turn, the competition is also far from over. Many may attest that the Ubisoft film does not stand alone this year for the said classification.

"The Angry Birds" movie also raked in the money with over $347 million in earnings, as well as "Warcraft" which may have not done so significantly in the American cinemas. But, it did rather well in China with over $433 million in global sales. Nevertheless, "Assassin's Creed" seems to not back down from any fight as a new trailer has surfaced and showcased more hype than before.

As per Gizmodo, "Assassin's Creed" certainly has a lot of teases buried inside its latest trailer, showcasing how the character of Michael Fassbender is actually the descendant of an assassin 500 years back. Locked up in a facility against his will, the fighter is driven to see what his ancestors came up with during the Spanish Inquisition era.

Until then, fans of "Assassin's Creed" can rest assured that the team behind the film will deliver accordingly as the games do so. For further news and updates, keep posted on GamenGuide!
