Iowa Teaching Kids To Survive The Zombie Apocalypse

When the zombie apocalypse comes, the children of Cedar Rapids, Iowa will be ready. Not because they played "The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct," which is getting terrible reviews, but because the Parks and Recreation Department of Cedar Rapids is putting on a zombie survival camp during this year's Spring Break.

As a report from a local television station notes, "While at camp, the kids make emergency survival kits, build shelters, and navigate their way though a wilderness."

But wait, there's more:

"Program coordinator Ann Cajka says while the kids have fun, they also take away some fundamental skills.

"We found it actually has a lot of opportunities for naturalist interpretation and emergency and disaster planning, even some historic skills, so we put together a zombie camps and it's just immensely popular," Cajka said."

Sadly, the program appear to be only for kids so adults will have to depend on whatever they learned from watching the "Resident Evil" franchise to survive.
