Release date of the Nintendo NX console has reportedly been pushed back further and naturally fans are furious. It has been the most-elusive console but fans expected the device to be revealed at the end of this week. However, the event seems to have been unconfirmed and experts are claiming that it will take a while for Nintendo to release the NX console.
According to industry insider Dr. Serkan Toto, fans should not expect the Nintendo NX this week. The reveal was set for Oct. 21 via Nintendo Direct. Even though Toto revealed that the console will be discussed next week during Nintendo's second quarter earnings report, it does not necessarily mean a public reveal.
Company executives will probably plan things out for Nintendo NX though details will be kept under wraps. A report on Business Insider stated that Nintendo will still announce a console by the end of 2016.
Another report by The Wall Street Journal revealed Nintendo's timetable for 2016 and it still has plans of releasing a console, maybe the Nintendo NX. This could even be as soon as next week. A Nintendo spokesperson also confirmed the same. Nintendo's upcoming second-quarter earnings report is on Oct. 26.
Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima will speak about Nintendo NX when he meets the press and analysts. NX fans have been waiting for the console to be released for months. But, every time they have been disappointed. True, the console is expected to be released in March 2017. However, Nintendo's silence and total lack of updates have made fans frustrated.
Earlier leaks had suggested that the Nintendo NX console would come with cartridges and not discs. Modern cartridges store more data than discs and machines read them a lot faster. The console will reportedly be more powerful than Wii U but will still be behind PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
