"Civilization 6" creator Sid Meier recently divulged some very interesting details about the game when he discussed his own play style. Players will be able to experience the game first-hand on Friday where they would be leading people from prehistoric era to the space age. The game is simulation of humanity's journey that includes politics, wars and cultural struggles.
Meier was interviewed by The Washington Post where he revealed that the Roman Civilization is a little bit good at everything. He also shared a tip stating that players should look at the situation and decide the strategy accordingly. Meier said that "Civilization 6" is a great opportunity for conquest and exploration.
When asked how some of the gameplay elements will work in VR, Meier pointed out that "Civilization 6" takes hours and hours to play. It won't be possible for players to wear a headset for that long. Therefore, it would be better to find the key moments with the most interesting visuals and then experience on VR.
Meier also pointed out how policymakers can learn a thing or two about governance from "Civilization 6." To him, the game teaches that all decisions are trade-offs and policymakers must understand both the upside as well as the downside of making decisions. "The lesson of Civ is it's more complicated than it looks. Yeah, you can raise taxes, but then my people are going to be unhappy. Or I can invest in my military but then I'm slighting science," he added.
"Civilization 6" will release in the US on Oct. 21, 12AM Eastern Time and in Europe at 12AM British Summer Time. 2K Games has listed the unlock times for three regions on the "Civilization VI" Steam page. Fans can also use a VPN to unlock the game earlier though this may not be a wise move.
