Telltale Games' 'The Walking Dead' Coming to Vita

Vita owners will finally get another good game. Clementine and Lee are coming to everyone's favorite struggling portable device, we just don't know exactly when. Telltale Games' "The Walking Dead" series, already released on Xbox 360, PS3, PC and iOS, is clumsily zombie-walking its way onto the Playstation Vita, according to IGN.The game recieved multiple acccolades from BAFTA and Spike TV, as well as granting a serious boost in Telltale Games' reputation as the premiere storytellers in video games.

PlayStation's Don Mesa, director of product planning and platform software innovation, spoke with IGN on Friday, teasing the game in a discussion about the Playstation Vita's future.

"With 'The Walking Dead,' Mesa explained, "We think that the emotion and the immersive experiences you're going to get there, wherever you're sitting, if you're in your living room and playing on your Vita or sitting at a café or at the bus stop and playing this, you get that shock or fright. I think that's going to be important. That's what we want to deliver as you're playing."

Mesa, in addition to keeping the game's eventual release date under wraps, didn't elaborate on which Vita features the game is likely to use. Touch controls were central to the iOS version of "The Walking Dead," so perhaps that back touchpad on the Vita might finally get some worthwhile use. But probably not. Mesa also didn't say whether the five individual episodes would see a staggered release, as they originally did, or if the game would come as a package deal like the rerelease in fall 2012.

As for a true sequel to the storytelling series, Telltale co-founder Dan Connors told Eurogamer season 2 was coming in fall of this year.
