NFL 2016 News and Update: How Will LeSean McCoy's Injury Affect the Playoff hopes of the Buffalo Bills?

LeSean McCoy's injury is a major hit in the playoff hopes of the Buffalo Bills. It's still seven weeks into the 2016 NFL season and a lot more football left to go. However, teams are already looking forward to securing a playoff spot.

McCoy suffered a hamstring injury during Wednesday's practice and is currently listed as doubtful to play on the Bills' game against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Bills coach Rex Ryan is hopeful McCoy can suit up on that game but the team's offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn wants to be really cautious with McCoy because he suffered the same injury during training camp.

"We'll see how he progresses the next two days," Ryan said. "[The] injury wasn't full blown. Hopefull he'll play Sunday." Another player who is also doubtful on Sunday is the Bills' top receiver Robert Woods. Despite Woods' absence, Ryan is positive that there is no reason to be concerned right now. "I don't think there's a huge concern long term," said Ryan.

The Bills is currently riding a 4-game win streak and is looking to make that five when they face the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. McCoy has been a big part on those four games with four touchdowns. Right now he is first in yard per carry (5.6) among running backs with more than 50 carries and second in rushing with 597 yards.

If the Bills win against the Dolphins, the next game that they will play, which is against Tom Brady and the Patriots, will be for the top seed of their division and the third seed of the AFC. Sbnation.com released their weekly power ranking for week seven and the Bills are up by five spots from number 15 to number 10. Right now, Ryan is just concern with their next game and not so much on the bigger picture yet.

If McCoy doesn't play, third-year tailback Mike Gillislee will most likely get the nod to replace him. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor also needs to up his game in his absence.
