‘Metro: Last Light’ DLC Announcement: New ‘Hardcore’ Difficulty Will Come Via Ranger Mode

Developers Deep Silver and 4A Games say on "Metro: Last Light's" Facebook page that the upcoming game will be receiving a new pre-order DLC called the Ranger Mode. The Ranger Mode will offer additional content.

The Ranger Mode DLC will add a brand new difficulty mode, a new weapon and 100 in-game military grade bullets that can be used as currency in the world of the Metro. Ranger Mode was also in the previous installment of the franchise, “Metro 2033.”

“The different difficulties in Ranger Mode focus on survival horror and includes limited ammo, gas mask filters, and medkits, deadly bullet damage for you and your enemies, faster mask fogging and limited battery power, and no HUD or crosshairs. Stealth and tactical combat will be key to survive,” the page states.

The Ranger Mode, which will come with the purchase of Limited Edition of “Metro: Last Light” as well as pre-orders of the title, the post adds, 

Apart from the Limited Edition, the Ranger Mode will also be available as DLC on its release day – May 14 for North America and May 17 for rest of the world – for all gaming platforms. The Steam pre-orders for “Metro: Last Light” will also start pretty soon.
