‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7 Latest Spoilers, News & Update: Steven Yeun, Michael Cudlitz Comments On Shocking Premiere

"The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere made its shocking return to the small scenes that featured the death of two characters. Recently, cast members Steven Yeun and Michael Cudlitz shared their thoughts about the AMC series' new season.

Aired on Oct. 23, Sunday, "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere finally unveiled Negan's (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) victims. The said episode proved that earlier speculations of a two-death storyline were true. Viewers witnessed Negan's brutality as he killed Abraham and Glenn, portrayed by Cudlitz and Yeun, respectively.

Many fans were expecting to see Glenn's death in "The Walking Dead" Season 7 premiere, but Negan bashed Abraham's head first. The charming yet scary villain then attacked Glenn after Daryl (Norman Reedus) tried to hit Negan.

Despite the surprising two character death, avid comic book fans may have expected Glenn's demise in the said episode. The said character's death was depicted in the 100th issue of "The Walking Dead" comic books that also featured a similar storyline as shown in the AMC series Season 6 finale. As for Abraham, the said character died two comic book issues prior Glenn's death.

Cudlitz also cited the comic book's 98th issue during an interview on the "Talking Dead" show. Joined by the AMC series' cast members, the interview transpired shortly after the release of the Season 7 premiere.

In the said interview, Cudlitz described Abraham's appearance as beyond the character's story arc in the comic books, Entertainment Weekly reported. He also commented on Abraham's dying words to Negan and labeled it as an "awesome" verbal comeback. Cudlitz added, "I think it's very, very appropriate for him to go out that way."

Meanwhile, Yeun described Glenn's death as an iconic moment and even recalled the difficulties he encountered in trying to keep the said scene a secret. The actor also recounted some of the memorable experiences he had while filming the AMC series.

Ahead of the Season 7 premiere's release, Yeun shared his thoughts about the AMC show during an interview with Variety. He described the said episode as "beautifully terrible" and commented on how he needed to deal with scenarios that represent the end of character's story arc. Yeun added, "You go over all the things you experienced together and what a great time it was for everyone ... It's bittersweet."

"The Walking Dead" Season airs every Sunday on AMC. Watch the preview for the show's episode 2 below:
