“Bioshock Infinite”: Four Things You Need To Remember

“Bioshock Infinite” and its floating city of Columbia are finally here.

Here are four things that you just need to know about it.

Expect DLC: “Bioshock Infinite” is expected to offer gamers three separate bits of single-player downloadable content somewhere down the line. These will offer new gears, vigors and weapons, and will be a paid DLC.

No connections to the past: Even though the game has “Bioshock” in its name, the campaign is set in an alternate universe in the year 1912. This is not a return to Rapture, where the first game was set. Here the airborne city of Columbia is the scene of action.

You play as Booker DeWitt sent to rescue Elizabeth, and Booker only wants to pay off his debts.

Puzzle for unlocking items: This is only for those of you who pre-ordered the game before launch. The developers gave you the option to play an exclusive flash puzzle game called “Bioshock Infinite: Industrial Revolution?” As it turns out, solving that puzzle gets you in-game items for “Bioshock Infinite.”

Gameplay elements preserved: Although the game takes place in an alternate universe, the developers have done well to retain the same experience as that of the earlier “Bioshock” titles.

While you play as Booker, you will be handed a boatload of weapons and supernatural powers that you must use to your advantage while fighting for Elizabeth. Some of your powers include control over a murder of angry crows, electrical manipulation and telekinesis.

Passive upgrades for Booker are also available.
