After much mystery surrounding the origins of Rey, actress Daisy Ridley weighs in to give a few hints. The character, Rey, surfaced in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" and has caught much attention after having a huge impact on the story. Theories riddled the internet with her possible parentage. Fans expect that at least one would be true in "Star Wars 8".

During an interview with Daisy Ridley who plays Rey, she hints the possibility of some theories, one of which says that she came from a lineage of Obi-Wan Kenobi. There was also the mention of Jyn Erso, the protagonist of 'Star Wars: Rogue One'. Ridley did not confirm nor deny the Obi-Wan theory, but did the match on the Jyn Erso theory and said that it won't work. Ridley then concluded the conversation with "let's see next year."

The latest and upcoming release of the franchise will be on December 15, 2017, according to Gamesradar. With the answer of Daisy Ridley herself, fans now know that their questions will be answered in 'Star Wars: Episode 8'. There's no telling whether Ridley's comments are reliable or if she's just bluffing, but one thing is for sure -- the hype and anticipation is going strong for Star Wars' newest release.

Rey's background in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" was that she was alone in Jakku, a planet far from the Empire's notice. She would then grow to become strong in the ways of the Force. Other than that, she was left fighting for her life in the rest of the movie. Fans may see more of where she got her talent in 'Star Wars: Episode 8'.
