The Samsung Galaxy S7 and the Google Pixel are undoubtedly two excellent smartphones in the market now. Both the phones have some incredible features to boast of. Therefore, choosing between the two would be a tough ask. Still, it will be interesting to compare the specs and features of the two for a clear understanding.

Ever since Google released its Pixel phones, many flagships have felt challenged. Many are considering the Pixel defining future of Android phones. True or not, the Google Pixel is taller than the Samsung Galaxy S7, which is denser, wider and slightly sleeker. While the Pixel phone has a 5-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, the Samsung Galaxy S7 sits at 5.1 inches with a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a screen resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels.

Although the Pixel phone is splash and dust-resistant, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is IP68 certified making it dust proof and water resistant over 1.5 meter and 30 minutes. Both the back panel and display of the Samsung handset is Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protected. The Always-On Display and TouchWiz UI are also present in Galaxy S7.

While the Samsung phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 Exynos 8890 Octa chipset and Adreno 530/Mali-T880 MP12 GPU, the Pixel phone runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and Adreno 530 GPU, writes Android Headlines. Google Pixel has 32/128GB internal storage capacity and no microSD slot whereas the Samsung Galaxy S7 phone has 32/64GB internal storage capacity and microSD slot with memory expandable up to 256GB. Both sport a 4GB RAM.

Camera specs-wise, the Google Pixel phone has a 12.3MP primary camera with phase detection, laser autofocus and dual-LED (dual tone) flash and features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. The secondary camera is of 8MP. The Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone has a 12MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus, OIS and LED flash. The secondary camera is of 5MP that supports dual video call and Auto HDR. Camera features include geo-tagging, simultaneous 4K video and 9MP image recording, touch focus, face/smile detection, Auto HDR and panorama, writes GSMArena.

Fingerprint scanner and fast battery charging options are available in both handsets. The Pixel phone has a non-removable Li-Ion battery of 2,770 mAh whereas the Samsung Galaxy S7 comes with a non-removable Li-Ion battery of 3,000 mAh.
