Final Weekly DLC Track for 'Rock Band' Arrives: Reflections On Five Years of Support

The last song to be offered up to "Rock Band's" weekly download catalog is Don McLean's "American Pie," a fitting track to bring to a close Harmonix's five years, 1,400 artists, and over 4,000 tracks.

The company announced the track is available today, calling it their "finale to a 5 year labor of love." To celebrate, they've also created a video celebrating the milestone, looking back at the franchise, fans, and slew of artists.

Over the past five years, there have been a total of 130 million songs sold through the Rock Band Music Store since the game launched in November 2007.

While this is the end of weekly DLC releases, support isn't over just yet. According to a press release, "Harmonix plans to continue support for the thousands of active Rock Band fans through ongoing Rock Band Network releases, server support and back-catalog promotions. Rock and Roll never dies, and Rock Band will keep rocking for years to come." So every garage band hopeful can keep living the fantasy.
