Huawei Mate 9 Release Date, News & Update: Huawei Teases Mate 9 Launch Next Month; New Impressive Specs & Features Revealed!

Huawei Mate 9 won't make its debut until next month but the Chinese phone maker already released the first teaser of its next flagship smartphone. Huawei is set to introduce the device at a launch event on Nov. 3 in Munich Germany.

Official details of Huawei Mate 9 have not been released but several leaks have surfaced giving fans an idea on what this device could bring to the table. The Mate 9 is assumed to look the same as its Mate 8 predecessor, but only with a sleeker design and more improved specifications. Just last week, renowned tipster Evan Blass @evleaks released an image of what is believed to be the new Mate iteration. Based on the image, the device will feature a dual-lens camera, a fingerprint scanner located on the back part of the smartphone and a USB-Type C port.

The Huawei Mate 9 is also rumored to come in two variants - the basic version and a high-end variant called the Mate 9 Pro. The latter is expected to sport a 5.9-inch curved Quad HD display. This sets it apart from the base model, which is said to have a flat, full HD screen. Other specs tied to the Mate 9 include a Kirin 960 processor, either a 4 GB or 6 GB RAM paired with possibly a 64 GB, 128 GB or 256 GB storage.

Also on-board is a 4000 mAh battery unit, which should be able to power up the device's 6 GB, 256 GB setup. It is also believed that the Huawei Mate 9 will be shipped with an Android Nougat operating system preinstalled. A leak from Weibo also suggests that the Huawei flagship will be offered in a variety of colors including Amber Grey, Amber Gold, Rose Gold, Sky Grey and Enamel Gloss Black, as reported by ZDNet. Fans need to stay tuned for the official details of the Mate 9, which should be available on Nov. 3.
