"Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 Episode 2 is a brilliant hour of television. Amidst the issues that the CW superhero ensemble has faced with regards to its identity in season 1, it would seem like the show finally found its stride with the Legends gaining a new leader.

The season premiere was a good introduction to a new direction, with the inclusion of bringing in new talents and the appearance of Stephen Amell's "Green Arrow." Episode 2 introduces the new crew of the Wave Rider, and their mission to stop the Nazi's quest for world domination. This week's adventure brought the Legends together with the Justice Society of America.

The theme of the episode is about how the Legends will maintain order within their team with the absence of a definite leader. The episode played around with having Professor Martin Stein take on the leadership role, only to realize that someone is much better suited to the task. That someone is Sara Lance.

If audiences could recall the events of the first season, Rip Hunter seems to be gearing Sara up to be his replacement. In this episode, the White Canary displayed decisiveness and calm, which is very much in step with how Rip Hunter led the team throughout the first season.

According to Cinema Blend, "Legends of Tomorrow" showrunner, Marc Guggenheim said that although Sara is now the head of the band of time travelers, that does not mean that they will not tackle a search for Rip Hunter, However, he added that certain plot will take a backburner, as they are still hard at work with the plot, but will have hints of it sprinkled across the following episodes. At this point, the Legends have no idea what exactly happened to Rip, with no clue on how they can track his whereabouts. While Rip remains absent from the series, The Legends will have to continue dealing with the Reverse Flash and the Legion of Doom, and the threat that they will bring.
