'Hitman: Absolution' Companion App Comes Four Months Too Late [TRAILER]

IO Interactive announced the release of the "HITMAN: ICA" companion app for use with "Hitman: Absolution." Now, it sounds like an excellent concept, letting users track 47's path, plan contracts, buy weapons and outfits, view stats, leaderboards, all that good stuff. See for yourself below.

The problem is with the timing of the app's release. "Absolution" released back in November, and NOW they're releasing the app. Wouldn't that have been the best time to release the app, giving players a better experience overall? What gives?

What seems to be worse is that I/O makes no excuse for the app's late arrival, they even acknowledge it, saying the app, "extends the experience of HITMAN: ABSOLUTION players who have collectively earned over 1.3 trillion dollars within the Contracts multiplayer mode."

Granted, there are a multitude of methods to dispose of your targets in "Absolution," everything from long range sniper head shots and poisoned sushi to spearing someone with a damn harpoon. But there are only so many ways you can do someone in, and it all starts to wear thin after a while.

But perhaps I'm alone in this. For anyone who's still happy counting their greenbacks as 47, you can grab the app for free from either iTunes or the Android Shop. Let's hope it does better than their Facebook app.
