It is not too long ago when the public was startled with the news that actress Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from his husband, actor Brad Pitt. On Sept. 19 of this year, Jolie cited ‘irreconcilable differences' on her divorce papers to split up with Pitt.
Brad Pitt was investigated by the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) following an alleged altercation on Sept. 14 on a private plane with their eldest son Maddox. Pitt have gotten "verbally and physically abusive" to his son while under the influence of alcohol, reports Yahoo!.
"DCFS has now expanded its investigation to other alleged incidents. They are looking at the original inciting incident and anything surrounding that, and looking at any relevant history", a legal source told PEOPLE.
"Things remain in a holding pattern at this point and are ideally nearing a conclusion. This investigation has always been and continues to be open-ended", said another legal source. Experts said that the investigation being continued is a standard procedure.
"People have erroneously made the assumption that the original October 20 date of the agreement between the two parties was also in some way a deadline for DCFS, and that is simply not the case."
"The parties reached an initial agreement and standard operating procedure is that a DCFS investigation is open-ended; DCFS is under no deadline and there is no delay here, simply a continuation of an ongoing process."
Dubbed as "Brangelina" by the entertainment media, Brad Pitt married Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie on Aug. 23, 2014 in Château Miraval, France. They have six children together, three of whom were adopted internationally. Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt just days after the plane incident and is not seeking spousal support.
