Team Fariko Impact Takes Home $400,000 from First 'Call of Duty' Championship

After three days of virtual bloodshed, 32 teams, and a sum total of $1 million in prizes, the first ever "Call of Duty" Championships came to a close on Sunday.

Teams who took part in the Championship consisted of March's MLG Winter Championships winners, 8 teams from Europe, 8 more from International teams in Asia, Australia, and Brazil, and the last 8 teams were drawn from other areas.

The tournament began with eight groups of four teams taking part in a Round Robin, which determined the 16 remaining teams that would go on to take part in a double-elimination tournament. This tournament narrowed down the final match up between Team Fariko Impact and EnvyUs, but in the end, Team Fariko ended up the top dog, netting the cool $400,000 that comes with it, along with some heavy bragging rights.

With each team made up of four people, each member of Team Fariko walked away with $100 grand each. And your mom said you'd never amount to anything by playing video games.

EnvyUs may not have made it all the way, but they didn't walk away empty handed. They, along with the other teams who made it to the final round, won their own share of cash, between $25,000 and $400,000.

Announced back in February, the Championship was a team up between "Call of Duty" publisher Activision and Xbox 360. Activision hasn't announced if they plan on holding a similar competition for other platforms.
