‘Thief’ PC Version Is Not A Console Copy

“Thief” for PC is set for a 2014 release and it will not be a watered down console port, the developer claims.

Producer Stephane Roy of EIDOS Montreal confirms that the PC version of the company’s stealth game “Thief” won’t be a copy of the console versions. Roy promises that he will think like a PC gamer while developing the PC version of the “Thief.”

In an interview with StrategyInformer, Roy reveals the PC version plays entirely differently compared to its console version due to the keyboard and mouse combo, and that Eidos Montreal will do its best to maintain the control scheme for PC players.

"No doubt on our side the PC version is extremely important. Just playing 'Thief' with a keyboard and mouse it’s different so we must make sure we support that well. For making the PC version we think like a PC gamer, for consoles it’s a different type of beast. It’s one of our goals to make sure that the PC version isn’t just a copy of the console version," Roy states.

Whether the PC version will get the expected graphical advantage over the console versions remains unclear.
