OnePlus 4 Release Date, News & Update: OnePlus to Keep Traditional Headphone Jack; Device Coming in Summer 2017? Impressive Specs & Features

Apple has ditched the headphone jack with the new iPhone 7 lineup and it is assumed that more smartphone manufacturing firms will follow the trend for their future releases. However, OnePlus might not keep up with the bandwagon and choose to have the traditional headphone jack in the upcoming OnePlus 4.

The Chinese phonemaker hasn't confirmed the release date or even the existence of the next OnePlus phone, but people are already anticipating for a follow-up to this year's OnePlus 3 considering how popular the device was when it was released in June. It is rumored that the company will retain the standard headphone jack in OnePlus 4 based on the survey conducted by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei on Twitter.

Last week, Pei asked his Twitter followers if they like headphone jacks, to which a whopping 88 percent answered with a Yes while only 12 percent said No. According to Trusted Reviews, this is Pei's way of gathering opinion from consumers so the company can use it when developing OnePlus 4. The survey was easily taken as a hint that the next OnePlus iteration is coming. Many believe that the phone will be released around summer in 2017.

So far, details on what OnePlus 4 can offer are only based on speculations. The device is assumed to have an improved screen resolution and a longer and more powerful battery pack. It is also expected that OnePlus 4 will have a bigger RAM size at 8 GB - an improved version from the 6 GB of its predecessor. People are also expecting that the device will still carry an affordable price tag. After all, that's what OnePlus is known for - impressive specs for a low price.

OnePlus 4 is once again expected to be a flagship killer. With Samsung suffering from loss due to Galaxy Note 7's battery mayhem, there's a great chance for OnePlus to steal the spotlight next year.
