Last of Us 2 Release Date: Nolan North Working With Naughty Dog?

Fans are getting hyped up with the latest The Last of Us 2. There was quite a stir during the MetroCon Q&A portion in Tampa Florida when video game voice actor Nolan North, who popularly provided the voice of Nathan Drake in the Uncharted Series, seemingly confirmed what is reputed to be one of the most awaited PS4 exclusives, The Last of Us 2. He also earlier confirmed Visceral's mysterious Amy Hennig Star Wars project.

Nolan North set the fans abuzz by giving the existence of The Last of Us 2 a casual confirmation. During the Q&A event at the said MetroCon, a fan inquired if Nolan North is working on any projects after Uncharted 4 with Naughty Dog. He responded that, for the time being, he would not be working with Naughty Dog after Uncharted 4. But he did not end there. He continued on saying, "I know they're doing a Last of Us 2." but he did not give The Last of Us 2 release date.

This gave fans around the world insights that development of The Last of Us 2 may be further along than what Naughty Dog would have fans believe. Naughty Dog once announced that development of and the The Last of Us 2 release date was put on hold to allow them to put more focus in the development of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End which resulted in the company scrapping eight months of development in Uncharted 4.

Also, developer Michael Knowland, in his Linkedln profile, said that he worked for at least one month on the development of The Last of Us 2.

The big question now is, when is The Last of Us 2 release date? It is good to note the following facts. Uncharted 4 isn't due to be released until the spring of 2016. With this date peg, typically, Naughty Dog waits about two to three years to release another game. With this pattern in mind, it might be safe to assume that The Last of Us 2 will not be released until 2019 or, crossed fingers, late 2018 at the earliest.
