'Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection' Announced For PS3: Six Games Confirmed For This June

Marking the franchise's 25th anniversary, Konami will release a comprehensive Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection exclusively on PlayStation 3, a bundle that spans the entire franchise.

The upcoming Legacy Collection includes Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition. The collection will also include two Ashley Wood digital graphic novels.

The massive collection, the price of which is yet to be announced, will arrive in June 2013 exclusively for the PS3.

"We wanted to give Metal Gear Solid fans the opportunity to experience the series from beginning to end, all on one console," Tomoyuki Tsuboi, president of Konami Digital Entertainment, says in a press release. "With the collection's multiple titles, players can truly see how Metal Gear Solid evolved into the critically acclaimed and beloved franchise it is today."

Series creator Hideo Kojima revealed an image of the game's box art when he teased the project last week, after which the Korean Game Ratings board published an entry for the bundle. The collection has so far been announced only for North and South America; however, the Korean age rating indicates that it will see a global release soon.
