'Xbox, Order Pizza' Now A Reality

Microsoft and Pizza Hut are teaming up to offer an app that let's you order Pizza through your Xbox.

The app, dubbed The Pizza Hut For Xbox App, let's users use voice, gesture and the controller to order a pizza. ""We're always looking at ways to give our audience more of what they're interested in," Larry Hyrb, aka Major Nelson, aka the face of Xbox, tells Polygon. "If you look at our audience, they love pizza. I mean, who doesn't? It has international appeal, and Pizza Hut is a recognized brand that matches up well with the Xbox brand."

This is not Pizza Hut's first foray into selling pizza to lazy gamers. Back in 2005 the company partnered with Sony's 'Everquest II' to let people order pizza using the command '/pizza' on their PCs.

Michael Pachter, analyst with Wedbush Securities, was skeptical of the move. He sarcastically Tweeted at Major Nelson, "As I sit here typing on my PC, all I can think of is that I need to go downstairs turn on my 360, and order a pizza." To which Major Nelson responded, "Can't hear you…to busy ordering my pizza."

You can use your Xbox to order a pizza starting today. Orders placed before May 6 will get a 15 percent discount on their first order.
