'Scalebound' News and Updates: Gamers Will Not Hear About the Game Until 2017

Gamers won't hear any more news about the Platinum Games' Xbox One and PC action-RPG "Scalebound" until next year according to Xbox executive Phil Spencer.

Spencer was asked on Twitter whether there would be any news about the game this year and he replied: "Sorry, probably no new Scalebound news before 2017."

It looks like Microsoft doesn't have any special upcoming projects since its focal point at the moment is the 2016 titles in the remaining months of this year. "Scalebound" is set to launch on Xbox One and PC this year but because there have been delays, it is now scheduled to launch in 2017.

The two other huge Microsoft-published games, "Halo Wars 2" and "Crackdown 3", are also delayed in its release date as "Scalebound". Xbox marketing chief Aaron Greenberg said that the creative process occasionally delays its progression.

"As you go through that creative process, sometimes things happen fast, sometimes they take longer than you expect. For us making the games great, making sure the stories are great, the graphics are great in these immersive experiences, is a priority," said Greenberg.

"Scalebound" is the next great adventure from critically-acclaimed developer PlatinumGames and renowned Game Director Hideki Kamiya. It is published by Microsoft Studios, currently scheduled for release in 2017 for Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.

In this game, players assume control of Drew, who is accompanied by a dragon called Thuban. Players can use a variety of weapons to defeat enemies, and may issue commands to the dragon, which assists players during battles.

"Scalebound" will also feature co-op play and giant bosses, according to GameSpot. For more "Scalebound" news and updates, keep it here in Gamenguide.
