‘Pokemon Go’ Latest News & Update: Are You Ready For A Winter Festival Of Pocket Monsters And Goodies?

“Pokemon Go” got a big push thanks to the in-game Halloween event, spawning ghost-type Pokemon and lots of candies. With that success this showed, it comes to no surprise that Niantic Labs is planning more events of the same kind moving forward.

As mentioned previously, Thanksgiving could offer something new with Spearow headlining the cast of focused Pokemon this November. Other “Pokemon Go” characters expected to spawn frequently include Psyduck, Golduck, Slowpoke and more.

Winter Event bringing in ice-type Pokemon
The characters mentioned for Thanksgiving may not necessarily offer a new breed of “Pokemon Go” characters, meaning it may be best to fast-forward to Winter. It is believed that Niantic is currently working on a Winter event were most pocket monsters appearing will likely be ice-type critters, Neurogadget reported.

Depending on the “Pokemon Go” critters in a player’s inventory and trainer level, these ice-types may not yet be on their list. Hence, Winter could be a better wait than the Thanksgiving plans seeing most of the ones rumored to be spawning are no different from what players come across daily.

Speculatively, “Pokemon Go” players will like await on the goodies coming out in the Winter. Candies are expected and hopefully larger since it is the Holidays. They were doubled during Halloween so the baseline expectation would be probably the same.

Egg-hatching changes due
Aside from the planned Winter Event, Niantic did employ a change tied up to “Pokemon Go” egg-hatching. Eevee can now be hatched via 5 KM eggs, great news for the ones who were unable to nab the elusive Pokemon.

Additionally, Rattatas and Pidgeys will reportedly be taken out in the 2 KM egg evolution. Though it causes some problems for the ones who plan to evolve them, these are critters that could easily be caught daily at default areas as mentioned in another previous post.

It will be interesting what other tweaks Niantic made on the egg-hatching scene, particularly the 10 KM type. Could there be surprise “Pokemon Go” characters awaiting egg-hatchers?
