Jumanji 2, the sequel of the first Jumanji movie in 1995, will be coming on December 2017. Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, and Kevin Hart will be starring as the movie's main cast.
The movie Jumanji 2 is initially announced to be release on December 25, 2016, but the date was later pushed to summer next year, July 28, 2017. However, the release date is once again delayed to December 22, 2017. There are rumors that the movie is facing cancellation due to the frequent delay. However, the filmmakers did not made any cancellation announcement. Despite of the few rescheduling, cancellation will never happen to the movie
"After months of shooting and editing our movie together, we realized we have a big family franchise on our hands." Johnson said. "That's full of Christmas wish fulfillment, fun and heart."
Jumanji 2 release date is pushed to a later date and it doesn't mean that the movie is facing any cancellation. Many Hollywood movies are also re-scheduled for the same month and year, like Star Wars: Episode VIII and Pitch Perfect 3. December 2017 will surely be an entertaining month for fans.
Dwayne Johnson said on Instagram that the Jumanji 2 is not a remake, they are not making a reboot like what some people expecting to the film. It is rather an awesome continuing story of the first Jumanji movie.
The Jumanji film in 1995 is a family fantasy adventure movie, an adaptation of the Chris Van Allsburg's book with the same title of the movie. The story is about the young Alan Parrish, who was trapped in the game. Twenty-six years later, siblings, Judy and Peter Shepherd find the game and begin playing it and meet now-adult Allan.
The upcoming Jumanji 2 movie is directed by Jake Kasdan, written by Scott Rosenberg and a tribute to the late Robin Williams. The plot is also almost similar to the first movie. It follows four teens in detention who get sucked into the game, where they take on a new "avatar" form to locate a jewel.
Filming of Jumanji 2 started on September 2016 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Many pictures on the set was posted on several sites on the internet. The movie is expected to be set in an amazing jungle adventure.
